Spotify has got you covered for Thanksgiving this year. We’re two days away. Have you done all your grocery shopping? Are you ready to cook that feast for your family? Thanksgiving is a great holiday. You spend the day with your family. You get to watch football. You spend time thinking about all the things you have to be thankful for. And, you eat great food. What else could you ask for?
Music, you say? Well, I've got a tip to get you just what you need in that department. Spotify brings you it’s “Time for Turkey” because “This holiday season, it’s all about the baste.” And Spotify’s playlist is going to help you pass the time while your bird is in the oven.
With Spotify playlist you just visit the Time for Turkey page. Tell Spotify the weight of your turkey, whether it’s stuffed r not and then choose your favorite music genre. After that, Spotify will tell you how long to cook your bird at 325 degrees and deliver your playlist. The playlist is timed to run as long as your turkey is in the oven. Though Spotify doesn't claim to be in the turkey cooking business, it says its roasting timetable is based on the USDA “Consumer Guide to Safely Roasting A Turkey.” They tell you to still keep an eye on your turkey to make sure it cooks properly. No complaining to Spotify if it’s not right.
Maybe listening to music on Spotify while our turkey cooks will help us for the price of Thanksgiving dinner went up this year. Using an informal survey of typical Thanksgiving offerings, the group determined that “the average cost of this year’s feast for 10 is $49.41, a 37-cent increase from last year’s average of $49.04” even though, According to the U.S. Bureau of Statistics, turkey is actually 13 percent cheaper this year, despite the rising cost of most other meats.
According to AAA estimates, over 46 million Americans will drive 50 miles or more to their Thanksgiving gatherings. That's 4.2 percent increase from last year and the highest number since 2007. And when they arrive, they’ll get to listen to your personalized playlist while they’re waiting for that turkey to cook.
Have a great Thanksgiving! And, let me know how that turkey came out.
