I’ve been using artificial intelligence in my work for at least ten years. Several months ago, Microsoft announced a huge investment in OpenAI and its ChatGPT bot. Now it seems like everyone is jumping on the AI bandwagon. And we’re learning about more and more AI tools coming out every day. Not only are new tools being introduced almost daily, but we’re also learning about AI being integrated into tools we’re already using.
Microsoft has announced the integration of AI in its Microsoft Office products, Word and Excel. And we’ll see AI integrated into PowerPoint soon too. Constant Contact has integrated AI into its email marketing software to help us write emails and send SMS.
Don't forget Lately, the tool that allows me to repurpose any long-form content through Lately's AI. With Lately, I can upload a blog post or a podcast and, within a couple of minutes, get dozens of social posts. With a bit of human interaction, these posts are edited and sent to Hootsuite or HubSpot for scheduling. It's really quite amazing how over time, Lately has learned my voice.
JasperAi is another one of my favorite tools. I use Jasper to write Facebook Ads headlines, YouTube video descriptions, SEO content, Amazon product descriptions and much much more.
And today, Adobe announced a new family of AI bots called Firefly.
Adobe is bringing AI into its suite of software to assist us in generating content in Photoshop, Express, Lightroom and more. “Firefly is the next step on our AI journey — bringing together our new ‘gentech’ models with decades of investment in imaging, typography, illustration and more to produce assets,” said Alexandru Costin in TechCrunch. “We’ll bring this value to our customers’ workflows where content is created across Creative Cloud, Experience Cloud and Document Cloud.”
I think you’d agree with me that editing an image using real, everyday words is something we would all rejoice in!
This is just the tip of the iceberg. OpenAI is releasing GPT-4, the most powerful language model ever created. It could have more than 10 trillion parameters. Yes TRILLION!
We’ll see this tech used in the legal field, financial services providers and analysts, education, healthcare, marketing and many other industrious industries.
And before you know it, Google will roll out its AI bot, I believe called Bard, which will use its AI language model PaLM. They claim this will compete directly with ChatGPT.
It’s really mind-boggling what’s going on. It’s also incredibly hard to keep up with the rush of new technology. But I’m doing my best to stay on top of things and keep you in the know.
And I'll always be reminding you that artificial intelligence is just that. It's artificial! It's not a substitute for your intelligence. It is the human interaction with artificial intelligence that makes it work.
Let me know what you think about all this. Are you excited about the release of GPT-4? Is your business taking advantage of AI? If so, please share with me how you’re using it. Send me an email and let me know.
