LinkedIn recently added new features to the site. Most of you are aware LinkedIn offers a corporate page. The profile you established is for your personal use and it is against LinkedIn’s rules to create a personal profile as a business. Here’s a quick overview of the new functions you may now add to your company’s page.
BANNER IMAGES
You may now add banner images to your company page. What’s great about this is that the banner advertising is linked back to your website, or wherever you want it linked to. I’ve seen companies use this to advertise products and services, link to Facebook business pages, and specific informational pages on their website. You may now create multiple versions of the “Services” page and each will be provided to viewers based upon their own profile content, industry, company size, etc. This function may prove to be very useful.
VIDEO SUPPORT
You may now upload your company video to the “Services” tab of your company page. This is a great way to tell people about your company, your services offered, or a particular product. As always, keep it short!
DISPLAY RECOMMENDATIONS
Nothing builds your credibility better than a recommendation from a happy client or customer. People want to know what other people think about you. We are all in this because we understand the power of word-of-mouth-marketing. This new feature provides you with the opportunity to take advantage of this powerful tool. The best part of this new feature is that the recommendations on your page are tailored to the viewer if possible. The viewer will see recommendations by people within their network, if they are available. Surely your credibility is enhance in my eyes if someone in my network recommends you.
In addition to this, clients may now recommend you from your own website instead of within LinkedIn. You may place a “Recommend” button on your website and clients will be able to write their recommendation which will then feed directly to your company page.
FOLLOW US
You may now add a “Follow us on LinkedIn” button to your website. The button takes people to your corporate page instead of your personal profile as before.
BLOG POSTS AND TWEETS
People may now learn more about your company from your Twitter and blog feeds. New Tweets and blog posts will appear on your Overview page automatically. This is another great way to let people know more about your company and the services/products you provide. LinkedIn has also added an “Analytics” tab where you can see page views, visitors, member visitors by industry and more.
SHARE BUTTON
LinkedIn has added a share button similar to Facebook’s share button. Clicking on this button updates your network connections. This button may even be added to your WordPress blog.
We’ve provided you with a sampling of many of the new LinkedIn features. We’d like to know if you’ve tried any of these features yourself. What do you think? Are there other new features you would like to share with us? Please add your comments below.
