The SEC, FINRA and Social Media

While managing a very tight budget, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has found work it can do right at their own desks. Last month, the SEC sent a document request list to investment advisors seeking to learn how they use social media sites like Flickr, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter, according to the compliance alert posted on the ACA Compliance Group's website. The Egyptization of Your Business

Newsweek magazine calls Wael Ghonim “The Facebook Freedom Fighter.” Ghonim and others used social media to spur Egyptians to action and begin the Arab Revolution of 2011 bringing unrest to the entire region. Yet, people continue to believe “Social Media is a fad I don’t have the time for.” The actions of Ghonim and others, along with the outcome of their actions should be looked at as an example to be followed by all types of businesses in the United States and abroad. Facebook Significantly Changes Pages

Once again, Facebook is making some changes.  Facebook has announced major changes to the design and functionality of its Pages. The result is that Pages now more closely resemble individual user Profiles in look and functionality. We think you're going to like the new features. You can preview the changes when you login to Facebook and visit the Page(s) you are an admin of. Facebook allows you to opt-in each Page to the new design until Mar 11, when they will automatically transition it for you. (more…)
