The headline, Tumblr Changes Reblogs either excited you or frustrated you this past September. As Mashable noted then, Tumblr has a large base of devoted users (as much all other social media sites), and sudden changes can sometimes set people into a frenzy. The reaction to Tumblr changing how comments get organized at the end of each reblogged post seems to have had a divided response immediately. (more…)

The word “Troll” is defined in the Urban Dictionary 256 times. Generally speaking, an Internet Troll is a member of an Internet forum who continually harangues and harasses others. One who posts a deliberately provocative message (generally attacking another person) with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.

Facebook released first quarter financial information and Wall Street is buzzing. The company nearly tripled profit on a 72% increase in revenue in its first quarter Facebook’s first quarter profits increased to $642 million, from $219 million a year earlier. Its revenue climbed to $2.5 billion, up from $1.46 billion in the same period last year. Seems like just two years ago the company was generating losses. Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg said in an interview, “What has really changed for us in the past year or two is that we are now a large and increasingly important part of what you have to do if you're running a business.” (more…)

On April third Android users were able to download the crazy-popular app Instagram. Up to that point the app was iPhone only. The following Monday, now that Instagram was available to iPhone and Android users, Facebook acquired it for $1 billion. Since Monday, the chatter about this deal has been non-stop. (more…)
