Sometimes we get so caught up in everything going on around us, we make things more difficult than need to be. This is easy to do with all the different social networks, each with its own set of rules and means by which we are to “socialize.” With that in mind, I write to bring you back to the LinkedIn basics. Attorneys Must Participate In Social Networks

There are a great number of people on Twitter these days. Generally, one doesn't think of attorneys as being among those that Tweet. So, you may be surprised to learn many Internet-savvy attorneys are finding more and more ways to use Twitter and other social networks like LinkedIn. Two examples: “Tweagle” is a LinkedIn Group for lawyers using Twitter, and the LinkedIn Group “Legal Blogging” is populated by attorneys who have personal blogs or write for a law firm blog. (more…)

Twitter Flies Past MySpace

In August, Twitter, the four-year-old micro-blogging service flew past MySpace in unique visitors to become the No. 3 social networking service in the world, according to new data from comScore Inc. Twitter recorded almost 96 million unique visitors in August, up 76% from August 2009, comScore said. During the same period of time, MySpace dropped 17% during the same period, to 95 million unique visitors in August. (more…)

Think Before You Tweet, Post, E-mail

A recent Denver Post article touches on a subject I've been grappling with for several years. It boggles my mind that people think an e-mail, text or tweet has tone. It's true. What we write and post in some fashion on the Internet, has a tone. Once we make peace with this concept it's important to consider this fact, every time we communicate with anyone. Social Media Revolution, or Fad?
