Pinterest is worth $2 billion and has an estimated 25 million users, most of which are Female. Marketers are discovering Pinterest is a social media outlet that can be used for many Businesses, especially more visual ones. I have a hard time thinking of ways that an accountant, insurance agent, or attorney could use Pinterest, but for more visual businesses, such as photography, advertising, restaurants and design firms, this social media site could be quite useful. Two weeks ago, Google began selling Chromecast. Just plug it into the HDMI port on your television and wirelessly stream content to your television from your computer, Android or iOS device. Chromecast is on the market for $35 a pop. Google says the device is “the easiest way to watch online video on your TV.” (more…)

Wednesday June 26th marks an important day in history as the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) on a 5-4 vote. This was a historic win for gay rights activists, many of whom were vocal about their opinions on Twitter.
DOMA, an act passed in 1996 officially defined marriage as a union between a man and a woman. The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn DOMA will change circumstances for married couples in the 12 states that currently allow same-sex marriages or unions. These couples will now have the same federal benefits and regulations that heterosexual couples receive. (more…)
